Greetings delegates,
My name is Zeus Lalani, and I am part of the Core Team behind NIMUN XVI.
I have always been drawn to research, economics, and global politics, particularly the gap between the policy that gets written and the policy that actually gets lived. Michael Lipsky's Street-Level Bureaucracy shaped how I think about this: his argument that policy is not finished in parliaments and treaties, but remade daily by the people who implement it, often with more discretion and consequence than its original architects ever intended.
I think about NIMUN the same way. The resolutions this room drafts over the next two days will only ever be a starting point, not because they are imperfect, but because that is what policy is. Every committee here, from proxy conflicts to displacement to emerging technology in warfare, will confront a version of the same question: what happens to a decision once it leaves the room that made it.
I hope you carry that seriousness into these two days.

Vishesh Kapadia

Greetings Delegates,
My name is Vishesh Kapadia,
My journey with NIMUN over the past years has taken me from Press, to delegate, and finally to co-chair. Each role has given me different perspective of the conference and taught me the importance of research, communication, teamwork, and adaptability.
Outside MUN, I have always enjoyed debating and discussing ideas, especially when different perspectives challenge the way I think. My interest in Mathematics and Computer Science have further developed my love for logical thinking and problem-solving. I believe these interests, combined with my MUN experience, have shaped the way I approach discussions and challenges.
As a member of the Executive Body, I hope to contribute towards creating a conference where delegates feel confident to speak, question, negotiate, and learn from one another. After all, MUN is not simply about representing a country; it is about understanding perspectives different from our own and finding ways forward together.
I encourage you to make the most of every debate, every negotiation, and every interaction.

Greetings Delegates,
My name is Aarushii Dalia, and it is a pleasure to be a part of the Executive Body of NIMUN XVI.
MUN has always stood out to me because it goes beyond simply speaking well or defending a country’s position. It challenges you to understand perspectives different from your own, think on your feet, and find common ground even when opinions clash. Over time, I have realised that some of the best moments in a conference are often the ones you could never have prepared for.
As delegates, I encourage you to research well, but do not enter committee with every word already planned. Listen to what is happening around you, question ideas, adapt your arguments, and make the most of every opportunity to contribute.
More importantly, do not measure your conference only by how often you speak or whether you receive an award. Meet new people, challenge yourself, and leave the room knowing something you did not know when you entered it.
I hope NIMUN XVI gives each of you the opportunity to speak confidently, think differently, and create an experience worth remembering.
